NOTES: Eleven docks were built for the city between 1778 and 1969. Both the Railway Dock and the swing bridge were designed by J. B. Hartley (son of Jess Hartley) and opened in 1846. This dock, together with the adjacent Humber Dock, now forms The Marina which opened in 1983.
