NOTES: The original choir screen, or pulpitum, was rebuilt in or after the late 17th century, and again in austere Gothic style in 1728 by Hawksmoor. In 1834 it was refashioned by Edward Blore who put a more archaeologically correct facade on it. The two large monuments to the left and the right of the screen doorway were designed in 1731-1733 by J. M. Rysbrack with some contribution from William Kent.
