NOTES: Although the cathedral was completed in 1903, the interiors remained unfinished. J. F. Bentley had intended to cover the lower walls with marble and the bare brick vaults in mosaics. In 1953 controversial embellishments to the interior were made which included marble panelling in the sanctuary.
