NOTES: This palace complex at Ridderholmen comprises the Wrangel Palace and Stenbock Palace. The former, built from 1530, but largely rebuilt by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder in 1652-1670 and restored after a fire in 1693, by his son Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and rebuilt again after a fire in 1802 by Gorwell. Stenbock Palace dates originally from the 1640s, but was extended and rebuilt in 1666-1671 by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. In 1863, the building was fitted out for the National Record Office and was restored in 1969-1971 for the Supreme Adminstrative Court by architects Uhlin & Malm. Wrangel Palace was restored by the same architects in 1985.
