York (London, 1819), pl. 8 NOTES: The rebuilding of the Minster in Gothic styles began between 1230 and 1241 with this the southern wing of the transept in Early English style. The rose window is c.1515 and is thought to commemorate the union of the royal houses of York and Lancaster.
