2021 New Year’s Honours

Nominate candidates for Queen’s Honours to recognise the achievements of people who do extraordinary things.

The RIBA is just one of many bodies who feed into the honour’s nominations list. An internal honours panel meets to review nominations before putting forward a short list to the Department of Culture Media and Sport as our sponsoring department.

Honours awards recognise the achievements of people who do extraordinary things. They are awarded to those people who have made an outstanding contribution within their field of work and beyond, particularly in voluntary/charitable work.

Making a nomination

Nominations can include architects but in addition we are keen to have some strong nominations from other categories – staff, community leaders, school professors and lecturers, fundraisers, and clients of architecture.

If you would like to make a nomination, please complete the attached form including a brief citation. Guidance notes on different types of awards are attached. Please note that we cannot accept a nomination without a citation. Deadline for submission is Thursday 27 February 2020.

More information on the honours process is available on gov.uk.
