As part of our Cerámica programme in collaboration with ECAlab we are welcoming Jo Taylor, Jenny Beavan and Dave Binns into the gallery to discuss their work in the current exhibition and their wider practice.
Jo Taylor is based in Wiltshire her time is split between studio practice & lecturing. Jo’s highly decorative sculptures draw inspiration from architectural detail such as ornate plasterwork, wrought iron and carved stone.
Based in Cornwall, Jenny Beavan’s work is inspired by a sense of place. Her ceramics often incorporate materials gathered from specific sites and explore ideas around the flow of water and geological change.
David Binns, Professor of Contemporary Ceramics and Programme Leader of the MA in Ceramics at the University of Central Lancashire, will be discussing his varied practice which takes inspiration from engineering, architecture, geology and archeology. His process-led research seeks to find solutions to some of the issues of sustainability.
