As part of our Cerámica programme in collaboration with ECAlab we are welcoming Wendy Lawrence and Edit Szabo into the gallery to discuss their work in the current exhibition and their wider practice.
Wendy Lawrence’s work is influenced by the geological forms that she documents in North Wales. Experimenting with unconventional glazes her work is highly textured and often mimics the spontaneous forms found in nature.
Edit Szabo’s practice includes sculpture, architecture, furniture and design. Since 2009 she has regularly lectured and taught practical courses at Moholy-Nagy László University of Art and Design (MOME) in Budapest. Working closly with urban, landscape and architectural designers Edit creates objects that become essential to their locality or context.
