As part of our Cerámica programme in collaboration with ECAlab we are welcoming Wendy Lawrence and Jo Keogh into the gallery to discuss their work in the current exhibition and their wider practice.
Wendy Lawrence’s work is influenced by the geological forms that she documents in North Wales. Experimenting with unconventional glazes her work is highly textured and often mimics the spontaneous forms found in nature.
Jo Keogh works from her studio at Makers' Yard in Leicester's Cultural Quarter. Her ceramics combine elements of handmade craft with industrial mould making and slip casting processes; creating vessels that allude to the development of ceramic production techniques.
