Building Regulations, Inclusive Design and Acoustics

​A programme of RIBA Core Curriculum seminars to help meet your CPD requirements (Cornwall and Wiltshire)

Your CPD is in your hands and must be relevant to you, your circumstances, the level of detail and expertise you require. It enables you to plan your career, strengthen your business, update your knowledge and acquire new skills and specialisms in an increasingly competitive market.

These courses are designed to help you achieve your annual CPD requirements, scheduled to concentrate the time spent achieving your annual CPD requirements.

There are three seminars:

Building Regulations: the challenge of achieving compliance
Using case studies to highlight the effects of the proposed energy efficiency standards, this seminar will look at how government policy on Building Regulations Part L will respond to the European nearly zero energy buildings target for 2020.

Inclusive Design: its not just about Part M!
Supported by case studies the seminar will cover the process designers should follow to assess layouts and design, whilst considering the implications of Part K, now combining Part N.
Speaker: Helen Allen NRAC, Helen Allen Design and Access.

Acoustics: tips to help architectural design
This seminar will present how understanding the role of acoustics can genuinely enhance building design, covering acoustic principles, construction methods and case studies focused on small projects.
