Explore and Make Online: Creative art workshops for ages 50 and over

The RIBA’s new monthly creative art workshop for those aged 50 or above, takes place on the last Thursday of each month. Using architecture and the RIBA's collections as inspiration, you will create your own art in this artist-led workshop. Free, booking essential.

Let’s get creative at home. Book a free place at the RIBA’s new monthly art workshop ‘Explore and Make: Online’ for those aged 50 or above, taking place on the last Thursday of each month. With us online you will explore buildings and architecture whilst you make your artwork. No experience is required, suitable for all abilities.

Artist Wilson Yau will lead each 45-minute session using basic stationery or household items. Inspiration for this interactive workshop will come from themed images from the RIBA’s world-class architectural collections of books, drawings, photographs and archives.

March workshop and booking

Book on one of two sessions on 25 March: 10.30am to 11.15am and 12pm to 12.45pm (Please note, these two sessions on the same day are identical so we strongly advise you to only book one).

For March's workshop, we will look at gardens for inspiration and be drawing with twigs.

Please bring:

  • white paper - several sheets, any size, A4 is ideal
  • two or three small twigs from your garden or local park (alternatives are bamboo sticks, matchsticks or toothpicks)
  • ink or paint
  • some water
  • pencil (any shade)
