#RIBAatMIPIM

A few words from our President

British architects are associated with many of the world’s best buildings, rightly enjoying a global reputation for design excellence.

As guardians of design quality, they also negotiate the real-world regulatory, commercial and time constraints for outstanding outcomes. They collaborate effectively with the whole project team. They lead the world in sustainable design, place-making, and the application of BIM. In short, they are trusted partners, driving extraordinary added value in the development process.

Around the world, the Royal Institute of British Architects represents more than 3,600 Chartered Practices. More than just registered architects and RIBA members, these businesses meet a number of rigorous extra criteria that assure the highest standard of quality for their clients.

Twenty-eight of them will join us on the RIBA stand at MIPIM 2018.

They are widely experienced, knowledgeable and highly educated. You will find them ready and willing to share ideas and tackle the design thinking needed to meet today’s and tomorrow’s post-Brexit development challenges.

Whether it is how to turn our shared socio-economic risks into opportunities for positive innovation, or a nitty-gritty, site-specific conundrum, you’ll find our Chartered Practices intellectually engaged.

Each have their own unique mix of hard-won commercial expertise. You will find rare skills in designing for all kinds of project, at all scales, in all sectors, and for all kinds of client.

Our Chartered Practice representatives are supported by my exceptional team of RIBA colleagues, who will be pleased to facilitate meetings during MIPIM. Find us on stand C:15.

I, my colleagues, and, of course, the Chartered Practices look forward to exchanging ideas, making new friendships, and, I hope, forging profitable new working relationships.

Ben Derbyshire, RIBA President
