Celebrate Open House at 66 Portland Place and explore the RIBA’s magnificent Art Deco headquarters. Throughout the day you hear about our splendid architecture, see some of our specialist collection and take part in some creative activities for children and adults.
All events are free, but tours of the building are on a first come, first served basis. As well as Open House activities, our café and bookshop will be open.

Join us for a guided tour of our Grade II* listed headquarters to find out what goes on behind our Portland stone façade. Hear about the history of the RIBA, stories about the people who designed and built it, whilst taking in our elegant art deco interiors.
Maximum 20 per tour, first come, first served – please sign up at reception from 10.30am.
Tours take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Drawing tours take place at 12pm and 2pm, materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and leave from the reception desk.
Show and Tell, 12 to 2pm
Explore a selection of material from the RIBA collections that show the history and development of the RIBA building and material from the Colin St John Wilson & Partners archive.

The Sky is the Limit
Drop-in and draw an imagined or remembered favourite building to add to our skyline.
Changing Faces, Changing Spaces
Take the opportunity to remodel the iconic 66 Portland Place to your own requirements and add your version to our display.
Self-Guided Tours, 11am to 4pm
You are welcome to explore our building on your own using one of our fact sheets that will be available on the day. Family activity packs are also available.
About the Event
For all ages. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
All events are free, but you must register online beforehand.
Photography and filming will be taking place during the event – please speak to a member of staff on the day if you have any concerns.
