The client inherited a 700 year old family estate in Gloucestershire which required a new business enterprise in order to maintain financial viability. Following research, a wedding venue was chosen to host up to 150 for dinner and dancing. The acoustic performance was the key driver to ensure the sound was incredible for the guests but didn’t disturb neighbours. In conjunction with acoustic engineers, we proposed a rammed earth structure with very thick walls. The building is sited at the back of the main house and has been carefully integrated with the landscape to form part of a living hedge.
