Copped Hall

Section and elevation for Charles Eamer Kempe, new garden temple at Copped Hall, Essex. 1890s, RIBA Collections.

Among our very large collection of the work of Sussex-based building contractors Norman & Burt are drawings for Copped Hall (also known as Copt Hall) in Essex.

These plans, elevations, section and details of the new garden temple are by Charles Eamer Kempe, who was commissioned by Norman & Burt around 1895 to produce alterations to the house and gardens. Kempe may have delegated various parts of the project to associated architects such as Walter E. Tower.
