RIBA international

Guidance, advice and the latest news for those based in the UK or internationally; and information for those who are interested in working overseas or becoming a member

The RIBA is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture, with over 42,000 members worldwide.

We offer support for members based or wanting to work overseas, with four global regions - Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia & Australasia - and three established International Chapters serving local communities of architects across the world and hosting regular events and activities.

We promote our members internationally through a strong presence at international conferences and events and through initiatives such as our International Prize and Awards.

We work with international institutes of architects and international architectural organisations - such as the Architects Council of Europe (ACE), the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) and the International Union of Architects (UIA) – to develop collaborative projects, support the global raising of standards, promote the value of architecture and create greater mobility within the profession.

We also work with other partner organisations, such as the Department of International Trade (DIT), British Expertise International and China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), to arrange activities such as trade visits, networking receptions and one-to-one business matchmaking appointments.
