RIBA international

Guidance, advice and the latest news for those based in the UK or internationally; and information for those who are interested in working overseas or becoming a member

The RIBA is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture, with more than 47,000 members worldwide. Through our work we champion better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment. We provide the standards, training, support and recognition that put our members both in the UK and overseas, at the peak of their profession.

RIBA International offers support for members based or wanting to work overseas, with four global regions - Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia & Australasia - and 5 established International Chapters serving local communities of architects across the world and hosting regular events and activities.

We promote our members internationally through a strong presence at international conferences and high profile events and through initiatives such as our International Prize and Awards.

We also collaborate with international institutes of architects and other international architectural organisations to develop innovative projects, support global networking and promote design excellence.

The RIBA’s vision is to be a ‘global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture’. Our role is to support our international members and our international communities which is crucial to achieving this vision.

We represent the interests of our international members through a dedicated platform of four international regions: RIBA Americas, RIBA Asia and Australasia, RIBA Europe, and RIBA Middle East and Africa. The aim is to build on local expertise by sharing knowledge and to influence the framework in which architecture can flourish internationally.
