Measured drawings of Jeshil Jami

Edwin Francis Reynolds, drawings of Jeshil Jami (the Green Mosque), Bursa, Turkey. c.1903, RIBA Collections

Edwin F. Reynolds (1875-1949) was born in Birmingham and mostly worked in the Midlands, private designing houses, churches and war memorials between 1896 and 1922. But his travels took him further afield than his professional practice, seeing him journey to Greece, Turkey and Egypt. Along the way he made a number of measured drawings of the buildings he visited, such as these drawings of the tile designs at Jeshil Jami (the Green Mosque) in Bursa, Turkey in around 1903.
