#DisappearHere third contest winner announced

The winner of the third and final #DisappearHere social media image contest announced.

19 December 2018

We've chosen a winner for the third and final theme of our Disappear Here image contest. Congratulations to Collette Rawlinson who submitted her beautiful winning image via Instagram.

The winning image, Running up that Hill by Collette Rawlinson, @ColR82 submitted via Instagram

The third theme in our series of #DisappearHere contests was centred around #OpticalIllusion, inspired by our Disappear Here: On perspective and other kinds of space exhibition that recently closed in the Architecture Gallery at 66 Portland Place.

Collette will be receiving a copy of Matthew Rice's Language of Buildings, courtesy of Bloomsbury Publishing, along with a RIBA tote bag. Her winning image will also be published across our social media profiles to over 200,000 followers!

Runners up from left to right: Finding right angles, The Laban Building by Anthony Palmer, @architecturephotowalks and Raindrops by Sofia Lasserrot, @sofia_lasserrot.

The judging was undertaken anonymously by our Head of Learning, Andrew Nelson, who chose the two images above by Anthony Palmer and Sofia Lasserrot as very close runners up, narrowly missing out on the prize.

Here's just a small selection of the other fantastic photos that were submitted.

Other entries to the contest; from left to right, top to bottom: @bahroz2infiniti, @sankeypatcher, @johannabooth, and @luisrl_photo.

Thank you to everyone who entered. Look out for our new exhibition opening in late January, as well as our associated programming and competitions.
