Long way to go to reach net zero - RIBA reacts to Climate Change Committee report

Our response to the Committee on Climate Change's assessment of the UK's progress in adapting to climate change.

24 June 2021

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has responded to the Climate Change Committee assessment of the UK's progress in reducing emissions and adapting to climate change.

RIBA President, Alan Jones, said:

“While the Government has made significant climate commitments over the past year, this report highlights that we still have a long way to go to reach net zero. The report’s clear actions for Government echo what the RIBA has been saying: now is the time for Government to step up and urgently set out a comprehensive policy package for buildings decarbonisation and publish the Heat and Buildings Strategy.”
