COVID-19: RSAW, RICS in Wales and CIOB Wales write to Welsh Government

RSAW have written to Welsh Government to highlight a number of issues regarding the impact of COVID-19 on its members.

06 May 2020

Together with colleagues at RICS in Wales and CIOB Wales, RSAW have written to Julie James AM, Minster for Housing and Local Government, to highlight a number of specific issues reported to us from our respective memberships. The letter seeks to encourage a gradual re-opening of construction sites in Wales within the parameters of health, safety and wellbeing as soon as possible in order to attempt to mitigate an elongated economic recovery. We also urged Welsh Government to undertake a public sector programme of maintenance during this period and also asked for consideration of establishing a VAT rebate fund for home repairs and maintenance, and energy efficient improvement measures.

Ynghyd â chydweithwyr o RICS yng Nghymru a CIOB Cymru, mae RSAW wedi ysgrifennu at Julie James AC, Gweinidog Tai a Llywodraeth Leol i dynnu sylw at nifer o faterion penodol yr adroddwyd amdanynt gan ein priod aelodaeth. Mae'r llythyr yn ceisio annog ailagor safleoedd adeiladu yng Nghymru yn raddol o fewn paramedrau iechyd, diogelwch a lles cyn gynted â phosib er mwyn ceisio lliniaru adferiad economaidd hirgul. Gwnaethom hefyd annog Llywodraeth Cymru i ymgymryd â rhaglen cynnal a chadw yn y sector cyhoeddus yn ystod y cyfnod hwn a gofyn hefyd am ystyried sefydlu cronfa ad-daliad TAW ar gyfer atgyweirio a chynnal a chadw cartrefi, a mesurau gwella egni effeithlon.
