Applying to the EU Settlement Scheme (Settled and pre-settled status)

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens living in the UK before Brexit can apply for the EU Settlement Scheme. The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021. You must usually have started living in the UK by 31 December 2020. This page outlines information relating to the application process.

Immigration arrangements for EU citizens arriving after Brexit

Free movement between the UK and the European Union ended on 31 December 2020 and on 1 January 2021, the UK implemented a points-based immigration system. If you were not resident in the UK by 31 December 2020 and do not have rights under the withdrawal agreement, you will need to meet specific requirements in order to work or study in the UK from 1 January 2021.
