Guerrilla Tactics

RIBA's creative business conference for small and medium sized architectural practices

Guerrilla Tactics is RIBA’s annual flagship conference for small and medium sized architectural practices. Held on 7 November 2023, this event provides a wealth of insightful information with a focus on essential business skills for architects, and how they can develop their practices through innovation.

This year’s Guerrilla Tactics theme will explore agility and embracing the power of being 'small.' The conference will discuss how practices can continue to be resilient no matter the climate, while focusing on the benefits of being and staying small. It will ask what ‘growth’ really means and how practices can leverage their uniqueness and be honest about what’s in their heart.

Guerrilla Tactics offers an enriching experience that combines an in-person conference event with over 20 hours of on-demand CPD available through the RIBA Academy platform.

Guerrilla Tactics 2022: Wellbeing in Practice

Last year's Guerrilla Tactics put the spotlight on wellbeing in practice and explored leadership and practice culture. The conference day programme was curated by Creative Directors Amos Goldreich and Parag Prasad.

The conference explored the mindset and strategies employed by practice directors to safeguard their and their teams' time, develop their leadership skills, build a culture of trust with co-workers and clients, and empower staff in a way that benefits them and the business.

Coaches and psychologists provided insight into how the brain responds to stress, offered practical tools for improving one's self-awareness and response to stress, and techniques for navigating challenging conversations.

The conference day returned as a face-to-face event on 8 November 2022 in 66 Portland Place, London. This was followed by a diverse CPD programme covering all ten Core CPD themes, delivered online from 9 to 10 November.
