Guerrilla Tactics

RIBA's creative business conference for small and medium sized architectural practices

Guerrilla Tactics is the RIBA’s annual flagship conference for small and medium sized architectural practices. Held in early November, the event provides a wealth of insightful information with a focus on essential business skills for architects, and how they can develop their practices through innovation.

Each year a new Creative Director is selected through an open call to develop the annual theme and conference programme, inspiring practices to think outside the box and sharpen their business acumen.

Past Creative Directors have included Pooja Agrawal and Finn Williams of Public Practice (2018), Amanda Baillieu and Gus Zogolovitch of Developer Collective (2019), Tomas Millar of Millar + Howard Workshop (2020), and Archio with Robert Fiehn Architectural Communications (2021).

In parallel, a diverse and topical CPD programme is on offer to help practitioners fulfil their CPD requirements. The entire programme is RIBA CPD Certified.

Guerrilla Tactics 2022: Wellbeing in Practice (8-10 November)

This year's Guerrilla Tactics puts the spotlight on wellbeing in practice and will explore leadership and practice culture. The conference day programme is curated by Creative Directors Amos Goldreich and Parag Prasad.

The conference will explore the mindset and strategies employed by practice directors to safeguard their and their teams' time, develop their leadership skills, build a culture of trust with co-workers and clients, and empower staff in a way that benefits them and the business.

Coaches and psychologists will provide insight into how the brain responds to stress, offer practical tools for improving one's self-awareness and response to stress, and techniques for navigating challenging conversations.

The conference day returns as a face-to-face event and will be held on 8 November in 66 Portland Place, London. A practice speed mentoring evening will conclude the day programme.

A diverse CPD programme covering all ten Core CPD themes will be delivered online from 9 to 10 November. Talks will be recorded and also made available for later viewing.

Further information about the programme is available on the event page. Tickets for the Conference and CPD programmes (individually or as a discounted package) are available on Eventbrite
