City of Stoke-On-Trent centenary: Building the century

In 2025, Stoke-on-Trent celebrates 100 years since being granted city status – a landmark moment for the community. Join the North Staffordshire Society of Architects (NSSA) for a fantastic day to celebrate a historic legacy.

To mark this centenary, the North Staffordshire Society of Architects (NSSA) is proud to present City of Stoke-on-Trent centenary: Building the century, a special one-day in-person event recognising both the city’s and the NSSA’s century-long contribution to shaping the built environment.

This is not only an exhibition, but also a platform for discussion, reflection, and engagement with the people and projects that have defined the city’s architectural and urban legacy.

Building the century will provide attendees with a curated exhibition tracing Stoke-on-Trent’s architectural evolution over the past 100 years, highlighting landmark buildings, transformative urban developments, and the practitioners who brought them to life. Guests will also hear keynote talks from leading figures in architecture and urban planning, including Fraser Godfrey, Director at Howells, and David Chetwyn, Director at Urban Vision, offering insights into the city’s past, present, and future.

The programme will include opportunities for networking, drinks, and canapés, as well as a student prizegiving celebration.
