Digital Creators: Explore Architecture and Technology at the RIBA

​Join us in one of our after school workshops and learn new digital skills or build on existing ones whilst you create and explore architecture. For ages 7 to 14. ​Free.

With inspiration from the built environment and the RIBA’s architectural collections and exhibitions, learn how to take advantage of technology such as iPads and coding to make art or build devices during our week of free after school workshops. You can attend any one or more of the sessions and no booking is required.

  • Monday 1 April: ‘Be a digital architect’
    iPad drawing
  • Tuesday 2 April: ‘Turn 2D into 3D’
    3D modelling and 3D printing
  • Wednesday 3 April: ‘Star in your own story’
    Film making using green screens
  • Thursday 4 April: ‘Create your message for the future’
    Basic coding
  • Friday 5 April: ‘Making buildings talk’
    Use sounds to explore architecture

About these workshops
For ages 7 to 14, these workshops are based inside our HQ at 66 Portland Place and led by experienced RIBA staff. All materials are provided. Participants are welcome to consume food and drink in the space before workshops start.

Entry to each workshop is on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 3.30pm and the workshop will begin at 4pm. There is a limit of 15 children per workshop and children must be accompanied by all times by a parent or guardian.
No unaccompanied minors will be allowed to attend

Meeting point and accessibility
Please come to the 4th floor of the RIBA building, the workshop space there can be accessed by lifts, but please contact us first if you have any specific access requirements.

Photography
We may take photographs of these workshop for our records and publicity, as we like to talk about and share everyone’s achievements from our workshops! We understand if you do not want photos to be taken - please tell us on the day of your visit if you’d rather not have yourself and/or your work photographed at any time.
