Join RIBA Learning for some experimental drawing inspired by the beautiful and historic surroundings of The Great Hall at Barts North Wing. Hone your drawings skills or loosen up by taking on the challenge of drawing with a long stick. You may discover a new style, concentrate more on what you are drawing or just have some fun in this glorious setting.

Barts North Wing
Barts North Wing is home to the magnificent historic interiors of the Great Hall and Hogarth Stair, designed by architect James Gibbs as part of his redesign of St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the 1730s. After a year of repair, restoration, and conservation Barts North Wing will be reopening in October 2025 with a host of family and adult events.
RIBA Learning on the Road
The RIBA Learning programme provides exciting opportunities for everyone to explore, question and celebrate architecture. As of June 2025, RIBA's 66 Portland Place location is closed for a three year refurbishment. During this time Learning will continue to deliver events in collaboration with other cultural partners. Step-free access is available to all public spaces via the main Barts North Wing entrance. Assistance dogs are welcome. There are accessible toilets in Barts North Wing, whilst baby changing facilities can be found in the West Wing of the hospital, please ask a member of staff for directions during your visit.
