Join us in the V&A Prints and Drawings Study Room to discover the unexpected and underexplored areas of the RIBA’s Drawings and Archives Collection. We will be welcomed by the curators of the collection to uncover aspects of the collection that are not directly related to architecture. What else do architects get up to in their spare time? What would you least expect to find in the RIBA Collections? Let’s find out!
This event is for anyone aged 55 or over that has an interest in discovering more about architecture, with a chance for discussion.
Free, please book a place. There is limited availability due to study room capacity, so if you are no longer able to attend please return your ticket. This will also help us keep this popular event free of charge.
Exploring Architecture is a free monthly event brought to you by RIBA Learning Team. It will be delivered in various locations across London during the refurbishment of the RIBA Headquarters, starting in June 2025. Each month will take a different format, including tours, creative activities and special insights into the RIBA Collections; all with an opportunity to socialise.
The RIBA Collections, cared for by the Royal Institute of British Architects, is one of the largest and most wide-ranging architectural collections in the world. With over four million items it represents a unique body of knowledge that is rich and global in scope.
The workshop leaders are Fiona Orsini and Lauren Alderton from the RIBA Drawings and Archive Collection curation team.
