Exploring Architecture: Drawing at The British Library

Join us for a visit to The British Library to explore the building through quick drawing exercises. For over 55's.

Join our Learning team for a visit to The British Library and explore the building through quick drawing exercises. Looking at scale models of the building and drawing in the wider environment to collect interesting details as sketches. Moving on to create scaled-up large versions of our findings in the Learning Centre. All materials will be provided.

This event is for anyone aged 55 or over that has an interest in discovering more about architecture, with a chance for discussion.

Exploring Architecture is a monthly free event exploring areas of architectural interest around London, usually on the first Thursday of the month. Each month will take a different format, including tours, creative activities and special insights into the RIBA Collections with an opportunity to socialise.

About the workshop leaders

The workshop leaders are Lil Adams and Edie Parfitt from RIBA Learning. Lil is artist, jeweller and educator, and Edie is an architectural designer with an interest in sustainability and collective learning.

As of June 2025, our 66 Portland Place location is closed for a three year refurbishment. During this time Learning will continue to deliver events in collaboration with other cultural partners
