J.E.D.I. Talks: Social mobility and equity

Join us for a conversation with inspirational architects and academics who will share insight into their lived experiences of social mobility and inequity. The J.E.D.I. Talks (Just Equity Diversity Inclusion) are hosted by RIBA North East's Change The Record campaign group.

The J.E.D.I. Talks are a popular platform for discussion on themes varying from flexible working, the impact of the pandemic, racism versus inclusion, gender diversity, and the human cost of architecture.

Social mobility and equity

Join RIBA North East as we hear from inspirational architects and academics who will share insight into their lived experiences of social mobility, inequity, and the realities of navigating social demographic differences in education and practice.

We’ll be discussing issues of class, bias, and the inequities that create barriers and explore the opportunities available in architecture. We'll also hear from students, architects, and academics, ranging from differing scales of practice from across the UK.

Everyone is welcome to join our conversation. We endeavour to be a non-hierarchical, value driven group in pursuit of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in architecture. The discussions take place under Chatham House rules, to safeguard all who participate.
