Join Manchester Society of Architects for a talk and tour of the Island, a transformational office project in Manchester designed by Cartwright Pickard and recently completed in spring 2025.

Join Manchester Society of Architects for an exclusive talk and tour of The Island, a transformational office development on John Dalton Street that marks a bold new chapter in Manchester’s commercial architecture. Designed by Cartwright Pickard and completed in spring 2025, this 100,000 sq ft Grade A workspace has already made a striking impact on the city’s skyline and is celebrated for achieving NABERS 5* sustainability accreditation.

The evening will begin with a short talk by Jess Spencer and Robert Phillips from Cartwright Pickard, who will share the ethos behind the design process, focusing on how the project balances contemporary workplace needs with ambitious sustainability goals. From its innovative façade to its energy-efficient systems, The Island sets a new benchmark for office design in the region.

Following the talk, guests will be invited on a guided tour of the building, offering a first-hand look at its architectural details, spatial qualities, and sustainable features. The tour will be divided into two groups of 20 to ensure a more engaging experience.
