Northern Soul 2018

Northern Soul - the sixth annual RIBA charrette for architecture students across the North of England returns this year even bigger and better, hosted by Manchester School of Architecture.

The sixth annual RIBA charrette for architecture students across the North of England returns this year even bigger and better, with the two Northern Ireland based schools being invited to participate for the first time.

Hosted by Manchester School of Architecture, and pulled together by a student group including RIBA National Council member Abigail Patel, this year’s brief – which will be launched on the day – focuses the students’ attention on an architecturally and publicly significant building in the centre of the city.

RIBA North West, RIBA Yorkshire and RIBA North East have worked collaboratively on the Northern Soul project for 6 years now, and plans are already afoot to hold the event in Sheffield in 2019, and Newcastle in 2020.

The 2018 event has been kindly supported by Ibstock Brick.
