Recognise, Raise, Receive: Having difficult conversations in the workplace

Ever felt uneasy about speaking up when something doesn’t feel right? Not sure how to handle constructive criticism? You are not alone.

Join YAPF and RIBA EDI Group for an eye-opening session on tackling difficult conversations in the workplace—especially when it comes to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). You will hear about real-world strategies to help you recognise, raise, and receive workplace concerns with confidence.

What to expect

Recognise – Identify what makes you uncomfortable and put it into words

Raise – Learn how (and who) to talk to when addressing issues

Receive – Handle feedback like a pro; whether it’s about you or someone else

Stick around for an interactive question and answer session with industry experts on EDI, practice management, and support networks. This is an invaluable chance to level up your workplace communication skills.

RSVP as spots are limited, so be sure to sign up early.

About YAPF

The Young Architectural Practitioners Forum has been developed primarily to promote and support young architectural practitioners in the North East region. Led by a committee of North East based young architects, it aims to support architects in their first eight years of qualification to help build networks across the profession and built environment.

Keep an eye out for future YAPF events featuring workshops, seminars, and building visits on all RIBA North East channels. If you have any questions or wish to find out more about taking part in YAPF events, please feel free to email: riba.northeast@riba.org
