About Katy Marks

Katy Marks, an architect and the founder of Citizens Design Bureau, pursued her architecture studies at Glasgow School of Art, Madrid, and Cambridge University. Additionally, she holds a Master's degree in Environmental Design and is proficient in product design and facilitation. With a wealth of experience, she specializes in collaborating on projects involving intricate Listed Buildings and diverse, creative communities.

They founded Citizens Design Bureau in 2013 and oversee all of its projects. They put a huge emphasis on drawing and making, ecological innovation, and collaborative design processes.

Before establishing Citizens Design Bureau, Katy worked at Haworth Tompkins where they were a project architect for the National Theatre Studios refurbishment, Young Vic theatre, and most recently, the 2014 Stirling Prize-winning Everyman Theatre in Liverpool which is their home city.
