RIBA Cornwall: Sandcastle competition 2024

Put your design and building skills to the test with family and friends to be crowned the best sandcastle architect of 2024.

Meet RIBA Cornwall and Poynton Bradbury Architects at Porthminster Beach for the return of the annual Sandcastle Building Competition as part of St Ives September Festival.

There will be several different categories to enter including:

  • under 11’s - with accompanying adult
  • family and friends
  • architects (easily the most hotly contested category)

Buckets and spades will be supplied and your brief will be given on the day. The competition is open to all, so bring your family, friends, and colleagues.

Registration will be open from 9:30am for a 10am start. Judging will take place from 12:30pm with the awards presented at 1pm.
