Update
This event has been cancelled today due to extreme weather conditions and will be rescheduled in early 2024.
This November, take time out of the office, get together with fellow RIBA architects in Cornwall and take part in the Surfers Against Sewage Million Mile Clean, the biggest initiative of its kind to tackle plastic pollution head on.
Closely tied to the UN Decade for Ocean Science, the Million Mile Clean will run every year until 2030, with the aim of mobilising 1 million volunteers to clean over 10 million miles of UK landscape.
Godrevy beach and headland is managed by the National Trust and is a unique place for wildlife with a landscape rich in flora and fauna. During the beach clean you might spot wildflowers, migrating and rare birds or grey seals.
The beach clean will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity for social networking, everyone in your practice is welcome to take part. The beach clean is an opportunity to care for one of our special places in Cornwall, improve wellbeing in the fresh air and spend time with other architects in the area.
All equipment will be supplied for the clean up. There is plenty of car parking at Godrevy, and the parking is free if you are a National Trust Member.
