RIBA East Midlands Great British Buildings at University of Nottingham's GSK and Advanced Manufacturing Buildings

Join the architects for this one-off architectural talk and tour as they reveal the stories behind the buildings, what inspired them and what makes their buildings RIBA East Midlands Award winners.

Join us for an exclusive opportunity to hear more about these two RIBA East Midlands Award-winning buildings from the architects who designed them.

As part of this series of events showcasing 2018's Award winners, the University of Nottingham will host two talks and tours on the same evening.

Project Architect Rick Sharp of Fairhursts Design Group will first talk about the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratories for Sustainable Chemistry:

“This is bigger than just a building – it’s a whole philosophy”. These words are an entirely apt description of the ambition for the project and what has been achieved through a deep collaboration between the client and design teams.

Project Architect James Woodhouse of Bond Bryan Architects will then talk about the Advanced Manufacturing Building, also based on the Jubilee Campus site.

"Such a balance of legibility and dynamic interest is often hard to achieve but the project team deserve great credit for their careful handling of context, the resolution of the complex spatial demands and the creation of an innovative working environment."

This event is part of our Great British Buildings series of talks and tours around the country.
