Make it Happen conference

This conference is designed to showcase commendable design delivery and best practices amidst challenging times.

The Make it Happen partnership is thrilled to extend an exclusive invitation to architects, urban planners, and design aficionados for its inaugural national conference.

This event - dedicated to showcasing commendable design delivery and best practices amidst challenging times - is organised by a prestigious partnership between the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Urban Design Group (UDG), Royal Town Planners Institute (RTPI), and the Landscape Institute (LI) whose mission is to celebrate triumphs and share best practices within the vibrant realm of architecture and urban planning.

About the conference

Join the conference at 1 The Island Quarter, a shortlisted project from the upcoming RIBA East Midlands 2024 Regional Awards. The building itself forms part of a £1.3 billion 36-acre regeneration site that is central to Nottingham’s sustainable growth, the ideal place to host an event like this.

Bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, communities, and academia, this gathering promises insights from exceptional speakers, with updates anticipated from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), and The Office for Place (OfP) (TBC). Lunch and refreshments will be provided, as we illuminate the industry's horizon with positivity.

Seize this golden opportunity to network with peers from across the UK and engage in constructive discussions on pathways to positive change.
