Mina Hasman

Mina Hasman leads Skidmore Owings and Merrill LLP’s sustainability and wellbeing daily operations and long-term vision. She has experience in a wide variety of projects in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, bringing a greater understanding of the implications of sustainable design in different climatic, social and regulatory contexts.

As a recognised expert in her field, Mina has been elected to the UK Green Building Council’s Board of Trustees, the RIBA Ethics and Sustainable Development Commission, the RIBA Sustainable Futures Group, the GlobalABC’s COP26 Task Force as the Commonwealth Association of Architects’ Focal Point, the Architects’ Council of Europe Sustainability Group, the WorldGBC’s Whole Life Carbon Committee, and the CIBSE Intelligent Buildings Group.

Mina regularly contributes to the wider climate change, sustainability, and wellbeing debate in her role as tutor at various academic institutions as well as regular speaking appearances at many international events and symposiums.

Nuru Karim

Nuru Karim, Founder & Principal at Nudes, received his Masters in Architecture and Urban-ism from the Architectural Association (AADRL) in London in 2006. His undergraduate studies include travel and education in the metropolis of Mumbai (KRVIA gold medallist) and Montreal (McGill University).

He worked for Zaha Hadid Architects in 2005 on a host of institutional projects both in competition/schematic design and design development stages.

Nudes operates within the disciplines of art, architecture and computational design powered by digital “making” tools. Nuru Karim has achieved critical recognition both for his built work and in competition. This is in addition to several design awards including a nomination for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2013. He has also recently won the World Architecture Community Awards (designed category). Nuru Karim is also a TEDx speaker and has presented his work and research on national and international platforms.

Mouaz Abouzaid

Mouaz Abouzaid is a Cairo-born architect. Founder and design principal of Verform Studio, he strives to create designs that both simplify and enhance the interaction of people and the built environment. He focuses on simple and functional buildings which also emphasise context and aesthetics. Abouzaid strives to contribute to the assembly of urban and humanitarian societies which are linked with heritage, social and political understanding and context. His expertise encompasses multiple market sectors, including residential, commercial, cultural, hospitality and mixed-use and urbanism.

Abouzaid was voted the Middle East Architect Young Architect of the Year in 2016 and nominated for Architect of the Year in 2018.

For more than 15 years, he has worked at top international practices in the region, thus acquiring a vast range of experience in both specialist design and technological innovations across the sector. He embraces challenges and individual complexities which attach themselves to each project. Implementing high standards and utilising cutting-edge technology allows Abouzaid to manage multiple projects and accelerate timelines to meet client specifications and achieve deadlines.
