RIBA Gulf Chapter's sustainable development series 2: Route to net zero – Regional case studies

Hosted by the RIBA Gulf Chapter, this webinar will showcase regional projects in the Gulf that are using sustainable design strategies to help address the climate emergency, designing in the hot, arid climate of the Gulf is not easy and takes special attention and techniques.

This webinar will showcase regional projects in the Gulf that are using sustainable design strategies to help address the climate emergency, with projects including the Bee’ah Headquarters by Zaha Hadid Architects (presented by the sustainability consultant Buro Happold), the Msheireb project in Doha by Allies and Morrison, and completed/ongoing buildings in MASDAR, Abu Dhabi.

Designing in the hot, arid climate of the Gulf is not easy and takes special attention and techniques. Methods of sustainable design need to be appropriate for this region while still creating effective, elegant architecture for residential purposes.

Experts in this field will present real projects with theories, data, and conclusions for any designer producing buildings in the Middle East or similar climates today.

This event includes a panel discussion with the guests and audience. Live questions from the audience will be held at the end of the talk, with attendees brought on camera to ask questions.
