RIBA Hampshire: Thoughts on architecture by Richard Jobson, Design Engine

An evening with Richard Jobson of Design Engine, sharing insights from ‘Thoughts on architecture’ exploring local and international projects through a contemporary design lens.

This autumn RIBA Hampshire is launching a brand new lecture series celebrating the achievements of local practices and their impact both at home and further afield. Opening the season, we are pleased to welcome Richard Jobson, founding director of Design Engine, for an evening of engaging discussion in Winchester.

About the talk

Richard will present a selection of Design Engine’s recent projects, spanning local landmarks and international commissions. These include the Winchester College Sports Centre, a striking addition to the city’s architectural landscape, and the MISK School Campus in Saudi Arabia, a large-scale educational project with global reach. This lecture will explore the challenges and opportunities of designing for educational and cultural institutions, while offering insight into the creative process that underpins the practice’s work.

The talk will highlight how a Hampshire based practice has established itself on both the national and international stage, contributing to projects of real significance and demonstrating the breadth of architectural talent within the region.

Guests are invited to arrive from 6pm to enjoy a glass of wine and informal networking before the lecture begins at 6.30pm Following the presentation and question and answer session, the evening will continue with drinks at the Mucky Duck Pub an opportunity to carry on the conversation in a relaxed setting.
