Great British Buildings: Education

This year’s RIBA London Awards saw a record number of winning entries. To reflect the breadth of exceptional schemes selected by this year’s juries, RIBA London is pleased to present a Great British Buildings lecture series in addition to this year’s building tours. Throughout Autumn we will be exploring four different building typologies: Housing, Education, Civic and Arts and Heritage.

Join us on Wednesday 27th September for the second of our Great British Buildings talks on Education as we discuss three of this year’s exemplar schemes:

Pia Berg, Associate at Penoyre & Prasad will discuss New Studios, Wimbledon College of Arts.

Winner of the RIBA London Sustainability Award 2017

Jolyon Brewis, Partner at Grimshaw will discuss The Laboratory, Dulwich College.

A home for science and a venue for the arts, The Laboratory was recognised for the ingenuity of its programme and the execution, going on to receive a National Award.

Tom Noonan, Associate at Hawkins/Brown will discuss The Bartlett School of Architecture.

A complete rethink of the iconic Wates House home to The Bartlett School of Architecture. The outcome addresses key issues when designing for education.

Get an exclusive insight into each project, followed by a panel discussion exploring the intricacies of working within the Housing typology. Nick Hayhurst, Director of Hayhurst and Co and RIBA Award Winner will chair the discussion.
