RIBA North West: Early Career Architects Forum Launch Event

Join us and help shape a new programme for architects in their first five years of qualifying

Manchester School of Architecture and RIBA North West are setting up an Early Career Architects Forum, to offer networking, professional development and mentoring opportunities for early career architects across the North West.

The forum is aimed at those within 5 years of graduating, as well as current Part 3 students.

Join us for this launch event to find out more, give your input in to the programme, share your thoughts and ideas for speakers, session topics and events, and make connections and socialise with other early career architects.

We'll be joined by Becky Smith, Chair of the successful RIBA North East Young Architects Practitioners Forum, who will share what they've been up to in the North East and offer advice and ideas for setting up the network. Find out more about the YAPF.

About the speaker

Becky Smith became involved with the YAPF having previously been President of Northumbria Architecture Society (NAS) in 2016/17. They were part of the first cohort to graduate from the Architect Degree Apprenticeship at Northumbria University, qualifying as an Architect in 2022 and has worked at practices in Newcastle over the last seven years with her main professional focus being in the historic and conservation sector.

Becky is passionate about both attracting and retaining graduate talent to the North-East and believes expanding the opportunities available to connect with other professionals at various stages of their careers through from being a student to emerging professional is one way to help achieve this.
