Join your RIBA South West Regional Engagement Partner, Nathalie, and RIBA Somerset Chair, Tom Gascoyne, at this free social event to meet others, find out more about RIBA in your area and share your experience of working in the built environment in the South West - all while getting a fresh air fix.
This event is open to all from the built environment - encourage your connections to come along!
Brean Down is rich in history, from Neolithic man through the Roman era, to the peninsula's vital role defending the South West during the Second World War.
We will meet for refreshments at the National Trust Café at Brean Down before following the established 2 mile coastal circular route. You'll see fantastic views over the Bristol Channel towards south Wales and over the Somerset Levels, the site of a Roman temple, and the Palmerston Fort.
Why netwalk?
As you walk side by side, conversations flow organically. The casual and open atmosphere allows for more authentic connections, transforming traditional networking into a dynamic and enjoyable experience.
The act of walking has been proven to boost creativity, walking isn't just a meeting; it's a catalyst for innovation.
Additional information
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a mixture of terrain and a small bottle of water.
Please note that there are a few steep steps at the beginning of the walk.
We will keep an eye on the weather that week, in the case of heavy rain or inclement conditions, the event will be cancelled with 24 hours notice and rescheduled for another date.
There is a £6 charge for car parking at Brean Down. It is free if you have a National Trust Membership.
Accessibility
The walk follows a maintained footpath, that is wide enough for at least two people side by side. There is step-free level access around some of the area and will will make adaptations so that the whole group may enjoy the event.
There is car parking near the café, with designated parking bays for Blue Badge holders. A toilet with adaptations for disabled people can be found next to the café.
