  • today 2 September 2025, 1pm to 1:45pm
  • place Online
  • receipt Free

Are you based in the South West and thinking of taking part in our mentoring programme?

We currently work with five Schools of Architecture in the South West: Falmouth University, Plymouth University, University of Bath, University of the West of England and Arts University Bournemouth.

Each year the programme in the South West is oversubscribed so we need you to help us support as many Future Architects as we can. The time commitment is less than you may think and we welcome applications from all sizes of practice.

At the session you’ll meet Nathalie Morton, your local contact and our Regional engagement partner for the South West and Wessex. You will find out about being a mentor, the sign up process, how we match mentors and mentees, and some guidance on running the sessions.

There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Who this is for?

RIBA Chartered Architects and Architects at RIBA Chartered Practices in the South of England.

This online session is suitable for both for those new to the programme, and those who have taken part before but would like a refresher or have some questions.

Topics covered

  • What is mentoring?
  • What will you do as a mentor?
  • Who can mentor?
  • What makes a good mentor?
  • How the programme works

About RIBA Future Architects

RIBA champions architects at all stages with education, professional development, support and opportunities for a better future.

We facilitate a mentoring programme for architecture students every year, bringing practices into education to support the next generation.

This flexible programme is a great way for students to gain invaluable experience in practice and real-life insight into the profession.

For architects working within RIBA Chartered Practices, the Future Architects mentoring scheme is an opportunity to connect with RIBA Schools of Architecture and support students of architecture to prepare for a life in architectural practice. By taking part, you will also be eligible to record this for CPD points.
