RIBA West Midlands: Coventry Cathedral sketch

Join us for a building tour and sketch activity hosted by the RIBA at Coventry Cathedral.

From charred remains to “bopping angels” (to quote Archbishop Justin Welby), the ruins and the new cathedral, with its chapels and use of perspective and light, make possible numerous journeys of transformation from darkness to light, assisted by the insights offered by the many permanent artworks.

Your day will start with a building tour of the cathedral which shows the many aspects to the cathedral aside from its history, including the architecture and Basil Spence’s vision, the arts contained within the building and the artists who created them, and the Story of Reconciliation which continues today.

After the tour, you will then be lead to the front outside of the building and given an easel and pencils to sketch the building.

Your ticket covers your entrance fee, building tour and sketching materials (easel and pencils). Food and drink are not covered.
