Skill Up: Indoor/outdoor living
Monday 24 October 2022, 11am to 4pm
For young people aged 15 to 18
Join us for this one day architectural workshop where we will explore our relationship with nature and weather and the role that architecture plays in this. More than ever, designing architecture with our climate and local climatic conditions in mind is important in reducing the impact of our buildings on the environment.
We will consider the experience of living in these spaces:
- How can we design spaces to blur the boundary between ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ and to connect us to our surroundings?
- Thinking about light, air, weather and nature, we will investigate and experiment with design ideas for indoor/outdoor living by creating architectural collages.
- We will also design and make a 1:1 shading device, to explore the relationship between light and shade.
This workshop will be run by mu projects, a collaboration between Cherng-Min Teong and Xuhong Zheng.
