East Midlands Small and Emerging Practice Group co-working day

Join other small practices in this city centre coworking space to support one another, solve problems and learn more about what makes a RIBA award winning building

This is your opportunity to get the practical and emotional support you need from your peers, as you spend the day collaborating in person with other small and emerging practices in the East Midlands region.

We'll spend the day at the RIBA Award winning NTU enterprise centre, using their coworking space to work alongside other local architects experiencing similar conundrums. Quiet areas are available for focussed work, as well as more collaborative environments, including opportunities to mingle with current residents.

This event will bring to life the support and expertise offered by the SEPG WhatsApp group, and allow a friendly, open and collegiate relationship to develop between members. You are welcome to come alone or bring a colleague who could benefit from creating a network of their own.

You'll also get the opportunity to tour the building with the architects from Evans Vittori who will explain how they tackled this renovation project and their top tips for submitting a RIBA award entry. You can examine their "well-executed responses to complex site constraints, including the existing structures and the root protection zones of adjacent trees."

Also on site during the afternoon, will be Stephanie Johnson from the RIBA awards team who will be around to answer all your questions about best practice for entering your projects into the East Midlands award. She'll explain how this puts you in the running for other prestigious prizes, and help you to clear any hurdles you're facing to make sure you're in with a chance in 2026.

Finally, the team at the Enterprise Centre will be on hand to showcase their digital immersive studio - undoubtedly a unique tool to have at your disposal when presenting your designs to potential clients.
