RIBA guidance on coronavirus (COVID-19)

The RIBA is working hard to provide our members with all the information and tools they need to navigate their way through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

From lobbying government on the key issues that matter to our sector, to providing practical advice on practice resilience and remote working, we are tailoring our plans and tactics to respond to our members’ feedback and supporting them every step of the way.

RIBA Chartered Practices can log in and access comprehensive and continually updated advice on employment and HR issues via a telephone service and online business consultancy library.

Relevant information will be shared in our Member Update email each Thursday. Please add memberupdate@riba.org to your email contacts, so that you receive it into your inbox.

During this time it’s important to stay in touch. We are here to support you – please email your feedback and queries to info@riba.org.

Latest update - Thursday 9 December 2021

On Wednesday 8 December, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new guidance for England to curb the spread of COVID-19 - particularly the new Omicron strain. New measures include:

  • wearing face coverings in most indoor venues, from Friday 10 December
  • working from home where possible, from Monday 13 December
  • presenting a NHS Covid Pass (or negative lateral flow test) to gain entry to specific large capacity venues, from Wednesday 15 December

See the latest rules for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

We know that remote working can be challenging. Please remember to seek support if you need it and take a look at our resources on topics such as mental wellbeing and productivity. Remember that the Architects Benevolent Society (ABS) team are also on hand to offer help and confidential support. ABS has a well-established partnership with Anxiety UK that offers mental health support through the charity's UK-wide network of therapists.
