Architecture in George IV’s London
Saturday 25 April 2020, 9am to 4pm
Participants should meet at the Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace
Over 18s only - online booking in advance is essential
Join us for an exploration of the architecture of late Georgian London, in collaboration with the Royal Collection Trust. Starting with a private view of ‘George VI: Art and Spectacle’ at the Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, led by one of the curators of the exhibition. You will then embark on an interactive walking tour through central London, with an experienced RIBA educator, to explore the architectural legacy of the Georgians. Our day will conclude with a closer look at the RIBA’s unrivalled collection of architectural drawings, books and prints related to the period, led by RIBA Chief Curator, Charles Hind.
Lunch is not provided, but during the tour there will be a 45 minute break for participants to get their own lunch near Piccadilly.
