Special guests Lukas Barry (Carmody Groarke) and Jim Richards (Nissen Richards Studio) join us for this lunchtime talk – part of a series celebrating RIBA award-winning buildings.

The panel will be sharing the story behind BFI Riverfront and Sutton Hoo - followed by a live interactive Q&A session.

BFI Riverfront by Carmody Groarke - Prominently facing the River Thames, Carmody Groake has delivered a new identity and landmark entrance to the BFI, blurring the territory between the Southbank promenade and the BFI, welcoming and alluring the public to step inside. The project won a 2022 RIBA London Award and National Award.

Sutton Hoo by Nissen Richards Studio - an extremely brave piece of commissioning by the National Trust, who detected a lack in visitors’ ability to appreciate and comprehend this deeply significant historical landscape. Nissen Richards Studio have proved to be exactly what the doctor ordered in terms of filling in the gaps by putting in a viewing tower to understand this charged landscape. The project won a 2022 RIBA East Award and National Award.
