Eco-Lodge Design – A free online workshop for students and recent graduates

A free online workshop, welcoming designers from all around the world. The workshop will focus on designing an Eco-Lodge in the UAE with sustainability as a key design factor.

Groups of designers (students and recent graduates) will work to develop a sustainability driven Eco-Lodge project for a highly scenic natural site in the UAE mountains. The workshop is aimed at architects, but engineers and sustainability students will also be welcomed.

This will be a collaborative workshop run online with Zoom and other tools. This free event is arranged and hosted by the RIBA Gulf Chapter. Participants can join as a team of three to five or apply individually and be assigned into a global team.

Following the success of last year’s workshop, we are keen to link together designers from around the world for this event and develop some creative, effective proposals.

The teams will be briefed on Saturday morning and have until Sunday afternoon to prepare their proposals.

There will be two sessions of guidance for the designers from academics and practitioners using Zoom rooms. There will also be keynote online lectures at the start and end of workshop.
